Croydon LGBT Groups Exhibition

Throughout February, an exhibition detailing the work of Croydon's various LGBT groups will be on display on the first floor of Croydon Central Library. The library will also be staging an exhibition of the work of LGBT Photographer Tom Dingley, either in the library itself, or in the foyer.

Exhibition: Reclined Nude Drawings, Croydon Art Store (loft)

A series of Indian Ink drawings by locally based LGBT artist Ruhul Abdin, exploring the reclined nude on scrolls of 20 metre paper. The subjects were drawn in late 2017 and early 2018, and comprise friends and lovers at the artist's home in Croydon. The exhibition will close each day at 5.00 pm.

A Cup of LGBT History

Join Surrey Heritage and Outline, Surrey's LGBT organisation for a cup of LGBT history to celebrate LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans) History Month. As well as free coffee and cake there will be talks about popular 1920s and 1930s music hall performers Gwen Farrar and Norah Blaney, Surrey History Centre and Outline.

CAGS Monthly Meeting Jarman in Pieces

Filmmaker, painter, gay rights activist, author, gardener – Derek Jarman packed many roles into a short life. Jarman In Pieces is a performance collage comprising original songs, film, interviews from people who knew Jarman and his work. Created and performed by Project Adorno.

Optional lunch 12.30pm in The Postal Order, Westow Street SE19 3RW (Wetherspoons). Leave the pub by 1.40pm to be on time for the walk which starts at 1.55pm outside Crystal Palace Station and ends at North Dulwich station. A pleasant GSWG walk that takes in Crystal Palace Park, a disused railway line and Dulwich Park. 4.5 miles, The walk is undulating and might be muddy. A stop for tea/coffee in Dulwich Park cafe.

An Evening of Contemporary Song

Peter will present a selection of wonderful Youtube performances featuring singers (and one pianist) performing songs written between the 1950s and the present day. Some are performing their own songs, and some are interpreting songs written by other people. At Ross's house in Purley. £2.00 to cover the cost of snack food, soft drinks and tea and coffee. LGBT History Month conference "Outing the Past"

The theme for Outing the Past 2018 is ‘Exploring the Intersections of History and Activism’. The festival begins on the Friday evening with the singer Tom Robinson giving the 2018 Allan Horsfall Lecture in honour of the founder of CHE. Ross will be there to introduce the lecture on behalf of CHE.
