“Alfred Bruce Douglas, you are charged that between 1891 and 1900 you did wilfully cause the physical, artistic and psychological murder of Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde, author and gay liberation pioneer; and further, that you did conspire to contrive the death of his first and greatest lover, Robert Baldwin Ross, critic and gay liberation pioneer, between 1905 and 1918.” For the prosecution: Peter Scott-Presland; for the defence: Andrew Lumsden, QC.
