CAGS visit to Honeywood House museum (Carshalton)

Chris leads a Joint visit by both groups to see this wonderful historic house on the ponds at Carshalton,The Edwardian era billiards room, drawing room, bathroom and kitchen will let visitors step into the past and see for themselves how the residents of Honeywood would have lived.Free admission.Cafe inside.Catch the X26 departing at 10:51 from East Croydon station (Dingwall Road) to Carshalton High street or meet there at that bus stop.

SLG Monthly meeting

Join SLG group and hear Critic and Playwright - Nick de Jongh, former Guardian arts writer and Evening Standard chief theatre critic, talks about his involvement with the theatre and the writing of his plays and books, which include 'Plague over England', 'The Unquiet Grave of Garcia Lorca', 'Pricked Out' and also 'Politics, Pruderies and Perversions' about censorship, which won The Theatre Books Prize.

16th Century Xmas Music 6pm / 7.15 for 7:30

Gorgeous choral works sung by the Renaissance Singers, in St.George’s Church, Bloomsbury Way, WC1A 2SA with mince pies and mulled wine available at the interval for a small donation. Optional pub meal nearby (venue tba) from 6pm, or meet at the church in time for a 7.30 start. Book (advance tickets cost £2 less up to 12 December); on the door £14 (or £12 for concessions). Nearest stations Holborn or Tottenham Court Road.

CAGS walk Green Chain Way (part) 5 miles

Matthew will lead along a section of the Green Chain walk from Beckenham to Mottingham (Kent). Meet Beckenham Junc.tram stop 11:00 am (Matthew will leave East Croydon on tram about 10:30.) Walk passes through Beckenham Place Park,the Ravenbourne Valley, through quiet residential streets (20 min break in a park) then ancient Elmstead Woods to finish at The Tarn bird la,in Mottingham. Here is a good chippie or pub. Return by train from Mottingham via London Bridge.

CAGS Lunch Club

In order to encourage a higher attendance, we have scheduled January's lunch club for the Milan Bar (Wetherspoons,) which is part of the former Grants' complex in the middle of the High Street, near the Post Office and not far from Spread Eagle. Meet downstairs. All welcome.
