Rainer Schulze, Professor of History at the University of Essex, attempts to reconstruct the forgotten life of Suleika Aldini, a transgender cabaret artist in West Germany in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, made all the more poignant by the fact that Suleika was a Roma child survivor of the Holocaust. BOOK by June 29th !! Members of the former Guildford Area Gay Group are having a garden party, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. It will take place from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday 28 July in Aldershot about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the station. (Bring a bottle or equivalent.) Tickets are £5 and are only available in advance (not on the door). A direct train (£13 super off peak day return) leaves Waterloo at 11.53, Clapham Junction 12:00 reaching Aldershot at 12.49. Also donations of gay books, mags, videos, DVD’s for the charity bookstall would be appreciated.
