Silver Rainbow Lunch

Merton Silver Rainbows have invited members of other groups to their Christmas lunch on Thursday 5.Guests can arrive from 11.30am with dinner served at 12.30pm. There will be time to enjoy your meal over a wee drink followed by some light entertainment and singing. This is a good way to promote our presence in the community and network with other LGBT groups, so please attend if you can. Mitcham, Surrey CR4 3NT. Lunch costs £10, drinks extra.

CINEMA MUSEUM. The greatest variety show ever.

Join SLG members at 7 for 7.30pm in Kennington Terry Sanderson shows archives of artists filmed at their height. Inc.a tightrope act so dangerous, it is almost impossible to watch, stars from the Peking Circus provide a truly eye-popping spectacle that defies definition. A six-foot man, weighing 16 stones, squeezing himself into a twelve-inch square box. WC Fields showing us the astonishing juggling act with which he toured the world in the days of vaudeville and music hall.Don’t miss our side-splitting contest to find the world’s worst ventriloquist.

SLG Exhibition William Blake Art

Join SLG members to view a William Blake exhibition at 11.00am .Millbank With over 300 original works, including his watercolours, paintings and prints, this is the largest show of Blake’s work for almost 20 years. At Tate Britain, Millbank, SW1P 4RG. (Pimlico Tube). Tickets £18 concs £17. Meet by ticket office at the Manton entrance on Atterbury Street. Followed by an optional lunch about 1pm at the White Swan, 14 Vauxhall Bridge Road, SW1V 2SA.

CAGS Jazz Evening. The Piano Trio, Endings and Begininngs

This evening will feature recently released Youtube videos of two quite exceptional concerts that took place in 2017. The first was by the Chick Corea Akoustic Band, at the San Javier Festival. This is true jazz super group, featuring John Pattitucci on bass and Dave Weckl on drums, with pianist Chick at the age of 77 still playing quite magnificently. The second is by the Joey Alexander Trio, with pianist Joey, aged just 14, recorded live in his home country of Indonesia. We will gather at 7.00 pm for a prompt 7.30 pm start.
